Classic’ Acoustics and Psychoacoustics – Similarities and Differences
It often seems that classic technical acoustics and psychoacoustics are two different worlds. Why is that so? There seem to be a lot of misunderstandings and competitions about the right way of doing things and so forth. In this presentation I will try to bring both worlds closer together.
I want to look at the differences and similarities of the different approaches on looking at sound. Why and how are they different, where can they meet, what might be advantages/disadvantages and how can we best benefit from both sides in the practical daily work as acousticians.
